Significant Moments.....
hahahaha!!! my bai chi bai he continues and tiong influenced me such that i have started to sometimes call it pian chi pian he-ing. but e essence of the issue really is that i nvr pian!!! i always just reluctantly agree...HAHAHA
1. met slasher at rail mall. it was really interesting. didn't figure that it's so near the dairy farm entrance into bukit timah. given that i was erm...half an hr early!! i walked over and reminisced the jc days...thinking what came over me to have helped in an H&F camp...hahaha..health and fitness. i'm not fit, not fat. dun fall into either category of the ppl who take part. but oh well...those were fun days...when i had to wake up every morning and think about how to out-do e ruggers sia...who challenged us everyday...hahahaha! i rem gaining weight from H&F camp. eat as much as i can...to be as fast/strong as i can. anyway e zhong dian of e meeting was that i began to wonder if i was drunk. hahahaha...at least i was hmmmm..happier than usual bahz. hahaha. influence of alcohol. i realized tt i haven't hmmmmm...drank actively for awhile. like i usually drink quite slow/little/pour my drink into e cups of others/drink cocktails that end up not very strong anyway. so i sat there wondering if i'm drunk while i discussed all kinda topics with slasher ranging from religion to our jc days. BUT! i really couldn't rem tt i lived next to ECP. like no matter how i racked my brain i couldn't think of e name of e expressway next to my home. grad for 1 mth only cannot rem e expressway connecting me to nus le. hahahaha. luckily we decided to take e CTE. coz i ended up insisting that PIE is next to my home, but i kinda knew tt it's not PIE. hahahaha...really dunno if i was drunk. HAHAHAHA. since when is PIE next to my house. e funniest part was that i noe tt BKE connects to PIE which logically means that it's not at e place where i imagined ECP to be. BUT, i just couldn't think of a better alternative name somehow. hahaha! i did consider AYE which would be a closer answer. oh well.
does anyone know if that means i was drunk?????
2. Sleeping
honestly...i haven't taken an afternoon nap since like april i think. before the crunchtime started. i took an afternoon nap yest and today!!!!! worth celebrating hahahaha.
3. PAH + Dinner
Visited PAH, so many new faces. tt's gd for e club. =). just look look see see abit. hahaha...my goal of the day was simple. buy coke for gee gee. hahahhaa. it was accomplished.
Had dinner with grace and her family. seeing grace's family always reminds me of the importance of having a caring and loving family. =) and! i ate more than usual today since it was a buffet and i skipped lunch. hahahaha. food not bad in my opinion...too bad my tummy so small. can only accommodate that much of food. and we had interesting conversations too!! hahaha. like i realized tt ghosts can actually assess computers and jumble up the words that you type!! i nvr knew that spirits can be sooooo IT-savvy. like amazing!!! scary though...*shivers?*
and it was fun watching the family poke fun at each other without hard feelings!! i think it's really cool.
okie.......up next....WCP tmr!!! clementi befrienders outing + my rollerblading experience. muahahahahaha.

Post-Taiwan
Been back for awhile and hibernated for a day, gave tuition for a day and met grace on the third day. hahaha....and i blew like $150? but that included skincare. >_<. hahaha...countergal told me tt i've got uneven skin tone. i guess i kinda agree...maybe really must bao yang. me so lazy! *cries*
anyway...it was great meeting shanthy and grace again. =). meeting ting and qi later. hahaha. i miss taiwan.
oh yah. me and grace dear saw barbie phones!! abt $170 after discount but they look classy and cute bahz...not gawky...and comes with 6mths warranty...oh so tempting! hahahaha. at least i didn't see barbie phones in taiwan so no price comparisons to be made. and i guess that although the clothes in sg look rather mundane and expensive now, there's still skincare. hahahaha.
and finally!!! i cleared up the mess on the floor in my bedroom! hahahaha...accumulated from another sem of studying...now everything's like gone. poof!
did i mention that i still feel like singing ktv?? even after singing in the partyworld tt resembles a hotel in taipei...i still want to sing ktv. hahahaha.

Taiwan Grad Trip
before i decide to procrastinate further...here's a brief post on my taiwan trip...at least i hope that it's brief!
DAY 1 (Sunday)
Touched down and got a ride to the hotel. the hotel's really very nice. not exactly atas/splendid but very gd and frenly service and they had this system of giving free rides to their customers as long as the destination is within taipei. highly recommended! ZHAN! (as in worthy of praise).
Then we went to the night market...'Rao He' night market...never in my life have i eaten sooooo much junk and so little carbo. haha...taiwan night markets aren't for carbo-freaks like me...but e food's gd so i dun feel a sense of loss despite my rather carbo-less wk
DAY 2 and 3 (Monday and Tuesday)
Went to Alishan!! wooohooooo.
First, we took e high-speed rail...which is super comfy....and i was next to shiyun. times like this serve as good training coz nu-er is either writing her diary/sleeping which means....i am superbly not entertained. lucky i had foresight and brought along my mp3player. but it's good!!! coz it corrected what i believe is a quirky personality trait - my absolute inability to sleep on public transport! i used to wonder why i can't do that...perhaps i'm just unable to or perhaps i need to sleep in a certain position...or perhaps i am too tense and refuse to compromise my consciousness/safety/alertness. hahahahaha...dunno y. but with nu-er...i got great training!!
after the HSR...we took a mini-train up alishan...the mini-train is really like a choo choo train. that fulfils my dream of taking a choo choo train!! haha!! it was quite an exciting trip coz there were railway works and we had to walk part of the way! it's like an exercise trip manz...haha...carry backpack and walk up part of a mountain...not bad! then we got onto the train again. it was really fun coz me and fred totally bullied tiong while nu-er slept. hahhaha. bully as in pin him down and poke him...and fred tried sitting on him....lalala...fun!
the room at the alishan hotel is really nice and cosy too...abit of a jap style. like coool!!!! then we got to go catch fireflies though i didn't catch any...so mean to catch them!! wouldn't want an alien to catch me and observe me...or maybe we are all caught and put into the container called 'world' to be observed. oh well! existentialism aside...we all din catch any except tiong who caught one and killed one. note the word 'killed'. so cruel...*tsk tsk*. so i changed the lyrics of a song to reflect the possibly of a firefly's vengeance. hahaha
following that we bought some alcohol coz supposedly it helps u to sleep better and we had to wake up at 330am the next day. hahaha...i believe tt we slept like after midnite?? so we drank watever...i had a peachy beer kinda thing. hahaha. tasted good...maybe i have regained my flair in picking out good alcohol.
so we woke up the next day...went on the guided tour and saw stars! sooooo many stars and the guide told us about the constellations. cool cool!! as cool as the weather. hahaha...i only brought my normal sweater that i bring to exam halls. and i think the temp at night is like 10 degrees or sth..hahahahaha.
anyway...then we went along a trail which i can't quite rem much of coz i fell asleep most of the way and pretty much drifted on and off the bus! in fact...i fell asleep and rested on a shoulder of a gal i dunno!!!! er...coz the other side is tiong mahz!! hahaha!! anyway fred and shiyun were like soooo happily sleeping on each others' shoulder the whole journey...i always wonder if i can ever reach that level.
anyway we saw the sunrise!! first time in my life...and saw the yun hai...really nice!!
then...we had to go on a trail to reach a railway station. but!! the hotel staff told us too late and to reach it we would prob have had to walk really fast...which we did!! but we took too many photos!! hahahaha!! and missed the station plus walked full circle. trail fail. so we just erm...took more photos, visited a nice temple and went back to the hotel.
then we went on our way back to the HSR...but sadly...didn't get to go kiteflying because the other grp on the tour had bought the HSR tickets already and we were in a rush. =(. but the scenery on the way back is really nice as well! and! i got to buy a chi bk. my MUST-BUY when i visit a chi-speaking ctry. bought 3 from china...bought 1 from taiwan. =D.
Alishan rox!! ZHAN! hahaha.
After Alishan...we went to Shilin Night Market and ate somemore stuff and we saw the zhuan jiao yu dao ai posters at this stall where the boss was to advise the cast incl. xiao zhu on how to cook the oyster omelette!! hahaha. and i ate smelly tofu...HAHAHAHA. somehow i dun even think that it's smelly. -_-. smells different/strange but not exactly smelly mahz. hai...why must we always think that things which are different are negative lehz??? (i am so lame). hahahahahaha. so i ate some of it. hohohohohoho. and i had ai yu bin which i like! and i guess that this is where the shopping madness truly began. hohohohohohoh. and guess what fred spent the most. -_-. hahahaha. winner. and a scary thing happened which made me abit chau tio! hahahhahaa...4 PDs on a trip. exciting!
Day 4 (Wednesday)
More shopping...like OMG! went to wu fen pu. bought alot of stuff. enuf said. hahahahaha. bought so much that we had to go back to our hotel to dump our stuff before going to Taipei 101. Honestly...by Wed my legs were tired. hahaha...tired from alishan, from lack of sleep...survived on shopping adrendaline...hahahahaha!!
in the evening...we walked over to Taipei 101 and passed the guo fu ji nian tang. really very nice. 101 was okie....abit too foggy but we went up anyway! coz no choice...no other day to go up le. no time..haha..but i think the little cartoon figures of the thingie that's supposed to stabilize the building...reminded me to space conquerers...yu zhou da mao xian! then we went back to the hotel! wheeeee~~ but on the way...freddy big fred fred was recounting a ghost story which freaked nu-er out. and she totally didn't want to listen to it...so we had to escape...hahaha. fun!
Day 5 (Thursday)
We went to Danshui! definitely my fav place in taipei. we walked ard near the water...got hungry and went into the 'zhen li uni' which is like damn glam. super rich uni...had food in the uni...left the uni and went into jay chou's sec sch! hohohohoho. sch tours. hahaha...then we finally went shopping at the danshui area which has really nice and cheap things...like i got a dolphin necklace at SGD $1.50. WOW. bought alot of random things really. including a bottle full of stones which will bring me luck! (i hope.) hahhaha...and we had the tall tall ice cream and had the food from 阿给 which a hk PR whom we met at jay chou's sec sch recommended. then we watched e sunset!!! YEA!!!!! and shopped somemore. ahahahhaa!! very beautiful place. i want to migrate there. hahahaha...okie lahz. i just want to stay at one of the hotels/hostels/home stay in danshui for awhile. everyday i can wake up and look at the beautiful scenery around me! ho sei ahz!
Finally we went to meet up with florence at ximending. before meeting flo...we went for dinner at this restaurant and i had a most horrible plate of pasta. can't even rem what it was supposed to be but it was full of onions. =(. which then gave me an awful headache. but i felt better after awhile. =). and me and tiong went cake hunting in ximending. hahaha. exciting! and we surprised fred with a super duper belated bday cake. hahahaha. but you xin jiu hao mah!
after ximending...we went for more shopping at shilin. like OMG!!!!! and we met up at like 1am. when e shops closed. hahaha...we can be soooo scary!
Day 6 (Friday)
The most special day of my trip. coz i left the hotel alone at 10am to meet up with siyu. =). it's exciting walking out of the hotel alone in a foreign country and going to the subway. hahaha. anyway...soon i met siyu! and we went over to Shi Da, walked ard and so many of the students seem to have known me from the exchange prog. >_<. but sadly i can't quite rem many of their names/faces even. too many of them. but we took more photos! toured the campus. my grad trip is like a campus tour. hahahaha...then we met three of e profs...2 from the exchange this yr and 1 from the exchange two yrs back. then we went to a restaurant with greek food. hahahaha. meditarainian food. and e owner is really cool! he used to be in the fashion biz and told us many stories. food was good too!! and i ate meh meh. =X. no choice! coz many of the others dun eat beef. so if i say tt i dun eat meh meh...we wld have so little choices. in fact of like the 5 dishers or sth...2 were meh meh. =(. but errrrr...one of the meh meh dishes tasted nice!! dun have the meh meh smell about it. but e meh meh was soooo cute. =(. oh well..then we left the beautiful restuarant, me lydia and siyu and went shopping. we all bought soooo much stuff and i fell in love with a pair of shoes which no longer had my size. =(. Playboy brand shoes. hai~ singapore sure don't want. coz...it's playboy!! HAHAHA. and we went to the shops which they usually go to. and we finally had the 'toing nai' (toing like the bouncing sound). it's basically black sugar+ pearls+ milk. not milk tea but milk. hahahaha...not a taste that you like at first but grows on you. and we shopped somemore and i got a beautiful umbrella that can even withstand typhoons...hahaha! the taiwanese students were so eager to have me buy it coz of e umbrella spine and i din want to disappoint by saying that sg got no typhoon mahz!! hahaha. we they brought me to see 18+ comics! *gasp* i was so chau tio by the comics...hahaha!! coz got gay ones which siyu likes then she keeps recommending to me. >_<. there was one with a guy in an apron!!! and siyu insisted on buying one for me/giving me one of hers and even asked for my add to send it to me. NO~~~~~!!!!!! and!! we went to this 2nd hand cd shop! damn cool...i bought 3 2nd hand CDs for like SGD$4.50. i don't mean $4.50 each. i mean $4.50 for 3!!! hahaha...and i bought a new one for like $8. (oh yah...on the last day i saw a calender with zhang dong liang!! but din buy coz he looked strange on it. the calender's fault definitely. not his.)
then came dinner...the beancurd for dinner was especially interesting coz they said that the authentic yong he dou hua...isn't those with the signboards saying yong he dou hua but the little stall on yong he road. so we had that!! hmmmmmm...really thick and dense the dou hua. interesting taste. =). not exactly like-able. but a diff experience definitely!! then we went back to siyu's hostel. like wow. it's 6 to a room. then we talked somemore...then siyu sent me back to my hotel and took a namecard for ouyang laoshi who's interested in the hotel i'm at coz it sounded so cheap and gd! hahaha...AND! i got to take the bus! which is super duper cool!
so alone in the hotel room, i showered, i packed, i read my chi bk and listened to music. i really like the leisurely feeling. =)
Day 7 (Saturday)
The day we fly back. we checked out, left our luggage at the counter and went for KTV!!! at partyworld at ximending which honestly looked like a hotel! it's like alot of storeys lahz. hahahaha...and really really looked like a hotel and we got a gigantic room!!! 4 of us. even had a corner with a small TV and a seat...like those pub kind. really really cool!!! so we sang and sang and sang!! woooohooooo..then went back to hotel then went to the airport and that was the end of grad trip!! =). a lil sad...wish i could stay longer..hahaha...then sun can see protests and can go beitou for hot spring with the Shi Da students. ohwells!
=). a lil sad...wish i could stay longer..hahaha...then sun can see protests and can go beitou for hot spring with the Shi Da students. ohwells! Next time go back again!
Not so brief after all. hahahha...
PS: I bought ponyos
PS2: there was no turbulence at all on our way there and our way back.
PS3: thankew my taiwanese friends whom i met and those who tried to meet me but failed and thankew family for sharing the beautiful trip with me.

People.
alot of wisdom can be gained from observing others....
yest...something dawned on me during my chat with my fellow panelists as we discussed how meetings are facilitated. since it was our third meeting, i was to conduct it...and we discussed how the previous two were conducted by a senior. very zai, very smooth, very focused. then it dawned on me that he's like that all e time. hahaha. it's a good trait really - having a task-focus. then i thought abt it somemore....our happiest moments are usually spent with people who aren't task-oriented but people-oriented.
i rem in jc...i was a ppl-oriented person. frens plenty plenty. i like knowing more people. then i journeyed along the spectrum...i have no idea exactly which point i am at now. sometimes i can be really task-focused...sometimes i am less. but i nvr quite reached my jc level ever again. they say slow down and smell e flowers. sometimes it's even more impt to slow down and get to know the others.
what drove it in was partly the meeting when i realized that the PD din even know which uni the gal with him belonged to, had to look at her for confirmation when he mentioned her position within the committee. it made me stop in my tracks and wonder....what kinda person he is. efficient yes. zai yes. intelligent yes. but.....why wld i want to work for someone who can't rem my sch.
then i thought of bean. organized yes. focused yes. but there is always this gap or should i say gulf that existed between us though we lived, travelled and ate together for a whole 2 wks. being non people-oriented, you tend to spend less time getting to understand someone else. you decide that there is no need for others to understand you. so people don't. but of coz you achieve your tasks. you may ask people how they are doing but if you don't stop to listen to the answer but go down to ask about what really is on ur agenda all along....it's obvious and a turn-off.
then i tot of other friends around me. sometimes when we get to caught up with trying to achieve something...we prob do. but at the pinnacle of our achievement, we are either alone or things have soured such that the others on the pinnacle with us are no longer happy. tt's a pity. there must be a way to get to the pinnacle and have the group still happy.
just random thoughts....coz i realized too that there are others around us who are still very people-oriented. i finally could place my amazement with slasher. i should stop calling him that really. hahahaha. for putting in the effort to go check on W. to have thought of how she might be feeling, to have bought her lunch. not many people are like that anymore. to go back to his alma mater which he obviously doesn't need brownie pts from the sch since his uncle's e principal anyway and he doesn't even go back to see his relatives when he's back. for offering to send me to dempsey for my outing.
winnie too...always concerned about others...always praying for others. always worried when people go thru rough patches and discussing solutions, thinking of possibilities, spending time to visit them, to liaise for aid to be given to those who need it. who volunteers for extra duty just so that things can run more smoothly for the rest.
it's really these people who amaze me. =).
The higher you climb...the more people simply look like statistics to you.
i'm greedy. i want to slide along the spectrum at ease and be conscious of the point i'm at. i want to occupy middle positions but with the quality and intensity of the people at the polar extremes...hahahaha.
Gambatte!!!
